@jon-nyc said in The Slate truck: It still has the problem of the small intersection on the ‘wants a truck’ / ‘wants an EV’ Venn diagram. Solution to that has been around for some time already. It’s called the Nissan Frontier Pro4X.

@Renauda said in Biden's taint is ill: @jodi said in Biden's taint is ill: @jon-nyc said in Biden's taint is ill: Trump’s message was classy. For real. Agree. My dad had prostate cancer, they caught it early, did the surgery and told him likely something else would kill him before it did. He developed Frontotemporal dementia and died a few years ago. Following PSA screening in 2018 and a bioposy in 2019, I was diagnosed with a Gleason 6 prostrate cancer. A subsequent MRI scan and another (ugh) bioposy a more aggressive garden of cancer cells were detected. Choice was surgery or radiation. I chose the former and the surgery was done in early June 2020. After now five years my PSA level has remained at .01 . Will do this year’s follow up PSA test sometime in June or July. Anticipate that everything will be A okay again. Early detection through screening was the key. For me it was totally asymptomatic. Glad they caught yours early!

A drop in the ocean of legal CYA that goes on in any medical provider's office every day. Doesn't mean the law is bad. Laws everybody agrees with, can also motivate perverse CYA behaviors.

@Klaus said in The first International Math Olympiad: Is this just for fun or do you want to make a living with it? If it's just for fun, I'd specialize in some absurd, highly theoretical branch of mathematics with no applications in the next 300 years, such as higher-dimensional category theory or homotopy type theory or algebraic topology. If you want to make a living: Probability/statistics and then make $$$ in the AI industry. I am sort of curious whether there's such a thing as a job market for someone in their mid 50s with a fresh degree in the next big thing in tech. Curious enough to actually find out.

Weird, the picture in that article is the McDonalds near my place when I lived in Virginia. It is NOT the same McDonalds in the story. Such lazy reporting (I know, these news sites are just churn out from their content stream...)

Specifically, LMR packs will lower the cost of some full-size EV truck and SUV models to bring their prices closer to those of their gasoline counterparts. It's great to see the progress. But prices closer to gasoline counterparts isn't enough, the prices, for this untested technology, have to be better. The early adopters have come and gone. It's time to make a better vehicle (cheaper, more reliable, convenient) if you want to make EV the standard.

As it has ever been. Unlimited wants/needs versus limited resources. It's morally repugnant but unavoidable.

That could just be a really bad mix. We saw Dave Matthews band probably 20 or so years ago and the mix was SO bad we walked out. You literally could not tell one song from another.

Yeah, I thought as much. Maybe we should make it a crime to post bullshit on social media. Disclaimer: TNCR is not social media.
